It's clear by now that we love a good antique tian or dairy bowl. Originally used in 18th and 19th century Provence, these would have been used to hold stews, grains and vegetables as they simmered slowly in a hot stove. Meanwhile, the dairy bowls held dairy products, allowing cream to rise for skimming and for storage. We love these as a centerpiece on a table or island, for holding fruit, or as a standalone accent piece.
