Woven in the celebrated ateliers of Aubusson during the grand siècle, this remarkable tapestry bears witness to the golden age of French textile artistry. The central panel unfolds flowering branches against deepest blue-green, where golden blooms cascade with the delicate precision that defined the period’s botanical studies. The ornate border frames this floral composition with scrolling acanthus and pomegranates, executed in warm ochres and muted golds that time has rendered sublime. The low-warp construction creates the fine detail that distinguished Aubusson from its contemporaries. A rare survivor from an era when such works adorned the château walls of aristocratic families, transforming domestic spaces into theaters of cultivated taste.
Please keep in mind this is a 300+ year-old tapestry. Age related wear and historic professional repairs.
