18th Century Dutch Delft Tile, Ship

Two small boats sail side by side across the tile, each flying a long curling pennant from the masthead, with dotted and striped sails brushed on in loose blue washes. Rows of bare masts stand off to either side on a banded sea, and a dark leafy sprig fills each corner. The glaze is a warm creamy white with pinholes and a few brown specks. The top left corner has broken off and been set back in place along a visible line, with chips and small glaze losses along the edges.
