Blue on a cool white ground, the painting shows three tall, narrow buildings fanned out like a hand of cards, each with a scalloped roofline edged in tiny strokes and rows of dash windows. Bushes drawn in fine arcing lines sit to either side on a broad wash of blue ground, and the corners carry small open flowers with curling tendrils drawn in outline. One deep chip on the left edge looks to have been filled in white, and the glaze has scattered pits and small flakes across the face and along the rim.
