A fixture of 19th-century French vineyards, this provincial folding wine table embodies the utilitarian grace of rural craftsmanship. Fashioned from solid oak, its circular plank top bears the marks of countless gatherings — a rich tapestry of wear that speaks to long afternoons under the sun and candlelit tastings in stone cellars. The tilting top, once collapsed to lean discreetly against a wall when not in use, now locks into place above a hand-carved trestle base, where iron pins and a wooden stretcher anchor the form with timeworn assurance. Triangular braces join upright supports in a delicate geometry. Weathered yet resolute, this table captures a moment in French winemaking history when every object was made to serve — beautifully, and for generations.
