Born from 19th century French provincial workshops, this walnut sideboard was sourced from the dining room of a countryside estate where it was passed down through the generations. The flowing serpentine front curves gracefully from end to end, where hand-carved flourishes complement the warm, honey-toned walnut that has deepened through decades of use. Twin doors open on oversized original hinges to reveal spacious interior compartments, while the shaped apron floats above scrolled feet that elevate the substantial case with unexpected lightness. Original iron hardware and delicate bronze escutcheons reflect an era when functional pieces received the same artisanal attention as fine furniture.
