Two short drawers over three long ones, graduated in depth and all hung on turned knobs in a darker, redder wood than the pine around them. The top is thick with a rounded bullnose edge, the front corners are finished with half-round stiles, and the base is a plain plinth. Small brass lozenge escutcheons mark each keyhole. The pine has mellowed to a warm honey, with a hairline split along one board of the top and a scatter of scratches and knots. It is wide enough to anchor a bedroom wall.
