Dark oak with a deep, even colour and strong figuring in the grain, most of all across the fielded door panels. Three drawers run along the top, a small one between two longer, each fitted with brass swan-neck handles and a keyhole escutcheon. Below sit two panelled doors either side of a fixed centre panel, with small brass knobs, and the case stands on short bracket feet. Both door panels carry a natural split running with the grain. Inside there is a shelf on each side. A strong base for a dining room, or for a long hallway wall with a painting hung above.
