Antique French Bench

A small French trestle bench with a thick oval-edged top, the wood deep oxblood-brown from old wax and sit-marks. Twin trestle ends shaped to feet at the floor, joined by a single stretcher pinned through with wooden pegs. The top shows real splits along the grain, dark wear at the edges, and a softness only sit-marks produce. Sized for an entry, the end of a bed, or beside a small fire.
