Antique French Lidded Confit Pot

Buff stoneware, thrown with visible ridges running round the shoulder and left unglazed across most of the body. Two heavy loop handles applied at the sides. The flat inset lid carries a warm rose-ochre glaze on its top and a small central knop. Dark firing specks scattered through the clay, and a chip at the lid edge. Good on a counter with the lid off and utensils standing in it.
