Antique French Mirror (c.1800)

An antique French mirror dating to circa 1800, set within a richly detailed carved frame and retaining its original mercury glass. The surface displays beautifully mottled silvering, soft clouding, and darkened edges that gently diffuse reflections, lending depth and warmth developed over more than two centuries. The frame’s timeworn gilt finish reveals layers of patina that accentuate the floral and foliate carving, worn smooth in places from age and handling. A striking and atmospheric piece that brings texture, history, and quiet drama to an entry, powder room, or layered gallery wall.
