Antique French Oak Side Cabinet

Stripped back to a pale straw colour, the oak shows its ray fleck along the frame and darker grain in the mouldings. One wide door fills the front, its fielded panel rising to an arch, and the frame is pegged at every joint. Long iron fiche hinges with turned finials run down one side, and a shaped iron escutcheon holds the key on the other. The top is a thick overhanging board, the sides are panelled, and it stands on plain block feet. Inside is one shelf and the old iron box lock.
