Antique French Wine Press Side Table

A side table built from an old wine press screw, the thick threaded column worn grey and split along the grain, rising from a stepped cross base to a round wooden top. The top is a warmer, sanded tone against the weathered screw and sits slightly concave with age. A heavy, primitive little piece with real presence, good beside a chair or holding a lamp and a stack of books.
