Chip-carved fans and punched rosettes run along every scalloped rail of the plate rack, with hearts and six-point stars cut into the small uprights between the three shelves. Above it sits a two-door cupboard under a moulded cornice, the doors glazed in rippled green glass and hung on brass hinges with brass turn handles that look later. Below is an open shelf over a deeper stepped base. The wood is stained red-brown and unpainted, darker on the backboards. It stands close to the wall and takes plates, jugs and cookbooks.
