Warm brown quarter-sawn oak carries the whole piece, and its pale ray fleck ripples across every drawer front. A plank top overhangs a concealed drawer set into the cavetto frieze, with three long drawers below, each outlined with a fine dark line, on a plinth with shaped bracket ends. Gilt brass ring pulls hang from flower-basket backplates and the oval escutcheons match them. The drawer shown open is lined in floral paper, and the top shows its board joins and a few fine splits. It sits as happily in a hallway as in a bedroom.
