A large 19th century Napoleon III mirror with a richly detailed giltwood frame, featuring deeply carved scrollwork, floral motifs, and bold corner cartouches. The warm gold finish has mellowed over time, with subtle variation and wear that highlights the depth of the carving. The original glass shows light age and foxing, adding to its character without distracting from reflection. A notable crack to one lower corner has been stabilized, consistent with age and use, and does not detract from the overall presence of the piece. A striking scale that works well leaned atop a mantel or mounted as a statement wall mirror.
