The top opens to reveal a generous interior, once used for storing linens or household provisions, with the original butterfly joint visible on the lid. Richly patinated oak shows its age in the best way, with warm undertones and wear from centuries of use. A piece both practical and architectural, standing on square legs and finished with simple brass pulls.
