A charming set of low antique English chairs, likely late 19th century, each raised on turned walnut legs with original brass casters and retaining their softly sloped proportions. The gently curved backs and generous, low seats give them a distinctly intimate scale—equally suited for pulling up to a fireside, tucking into a bedroom corner, or flanking a small table. Upholstered in a warm, timeworn velvet that shows subtle variation and wear consistent with age, the chairs carry a relaxed elegance rather than a formal posture. Their compact height and graceful stance make them wonderfully versatile, offering both visual interest and everyday comfort while showcasing the thoughtful craftsmanship and understated design sensibility of English seating from this period.
Please note the historic repair in one of the seats.
